Your initial consultation

What to expect at the initial consultation:

  • I’ll briefly explain my approach and broadly what we might focus on in the first 4 sessions of counseling

  • I’ll ask you to describe your best hopes for the counseling process

  • You’ll get a chance to ask me any questions that help you decide if I’m the right person to help you and your loved ones.

Thanks so much for your time and interest in Home Team Counseling! See below for 3 options for how to reach out for your consultation. Here’s to you and yours.

This gives you and/or your loved ones more time to think about questions and talk things over.

Some examples of questions you might ask:

  • “What’s your experience working with people who have [goal/issue]? How do you approach [goal/issue]?”

  • “What is [therapy approach] like?”

  • “I tried therapy before, and I didn’t like it. What do you do differently, so I don’t have that experience again?”

Be advised that all mental health professionals—myself included—must report any information regarding child abuse per A.R.S. 13-3620.

Why offer a free consultation?

Finding the right counselor is like finding the right pair of shoes.

You can’t tell if they fit unless you try them on. If they fit, that’s good. If they don’t fit, the important thing is that you get what you need to get where you’re going.
